Easter 2011

Here comes Peter Cottontail...

We had such a good Easter Weekend. The holidays are getting more and more exciting as Brayden gets older and is starting to understand the fun!

Saturday we went to Gary's moms house for her Easter Egg hunt. It turned out to be a nicer day than we all thought so we were able to do it outside. Ravyn was a great helper for Brayden and would show him where all the eggs were and help him get them in his basket. I think after breakfast that day he ate nothing but candy! He loves chocolate for sure!

Sunday morning Gary and I got up with Brayden. I think he was shocked to see he had a bunch of new toys in the living room. He just kind of stood there for minute and pointed at it all. Then once he realized he could get into it all... well that was it! Set the milk down and go! That afternoon we went to my moms for dinner and her Easter Egg hunt. Brayden had it down this time... so he was off and running getting eggs in his basket. It was so cute!

We had a great Easter and spent it with family which always makes it nice!

Random...

Well maybe not so random.. I did plan on taking pictures of Brayden this day but I thought it would be with the Easter Bunny. When that didn't work out I just snapped some shots in random places. So here are a few of those pics...

Fun PACKED weekend...

I honestly don't know if we could have fit another thing in this past weekend. We sure had a blast though!

Friday Gary took the day off and we decided to put up a new fence around our patio in back. Took only about 5 hours but we now have very nice 6 foot privacy fence around our patio. Now I feel like I can go out there with Brayden and I don't feel like I am being watched the whole time. It looks so much better!

That evening Gary took me out to dinner. He surprised me and took to a place I have been wanting to try. Toby Kieth's Bar and Grill. YUM! It was so good and great atmosphere too! We will definitely be going back! After dinner we met up with friends at the Grizzly Rose for the Josh Gracin concert. Disappointed!!! He had a mishap from the very beginning when he had great build up to him coming out on stage to a great song and his microphone didn't work. I know he may not be as big a star as say, Brad Paisley or Tim McGraw BUT he sang maybe 5 of his own songs! BUMMED. He has great music and even though he may only have 2 CD's out. Sing all of your songs from your own music. He tried to Rock it out and it just wasn't happening for him! Needless to say... it just wasn't very good.

Saturday morning Gary and I decided we better get the camper out and get it ready for the summer. We got it all cleaned out and took all the bedding out so we could wash it and made a list of everything we need to restock. Now we are ready for some good camping this summer! We already have our first trip booked for May! Can't wait!!!

That evening we took Brayden to his first Baseball game. It was Cubs vs. Rockies. We got all decked out in our Cubs attire and headed to the game! Brayden did sooo good! He ate every minute of it up. We were fortunate to be surrounded by about 15 girls and every single one fell in love with Brayden. He loved it of course. What a ham. He is the biggest flirt. He wouldn't leave any of them alone and I don't really know how much of the game they all got to watch or if they were more interested in playing with Brayden. I know Brayden sure didn't mind. All the Cubs fans were taking pictures of him because he had on his cubs sweatsuit and thought it was adorable. Not gonna lie... he WAS! LOL... Yes I love my kid and proud of it. And Brayden must be good luck because the Cubs won!!! YAY!!! We stayed until the middle of the 9th and that's about the time Brayden let us know he was ready to go home. He was a great sport the whole night!!!

Sunday morning we tried the Easter bunny thing... not so good! He had the death grip on me and daddy. Maybe if it was a Playboy bunny he would be okay with it... Just sayin!

After lunch we drove out to see my cousin Heather. They just moved into a new house and needed some help with wiring a few things. CUTE HOUSE! I can't wait until we finally get a house of our own.

So last night after we finished there...we came home and just put our feet up and relaxed as much as we could before the start of the new week!

Here's some randomness...

What we have been up to these days...

Brayden HATES his highchair... UNLESS he can climb in on his own and just play in it.

Sometimes when he wakes up all he wants is his "big boy" bed and milk.

Oh the light switch... just can't get enough.

YUP... he throws fits!

Brayden is a magnet to the fridge once it's opened, he has to be inside of it.

Loves Sesame Street... he was dancing with Big Bird.

Helping daddy pull the bush out of our front lawn.

Getting another haircut. He would keep squirting water in his face and laughing. And then after he was done wanted to help sweep up his hair.

I love my kid! I will never stop saying it. He has such a big personality and makes me smile!

Weekend Getaway...

My brother and sister-n-law invited us up to their house in Leadville this past weekend. What a relaxing weekend! I did not want to come home. Really I need to either live in the mountains or in the country. More and more these days I can hardly stand being anywhere near city life. Maybe I would appreciate it more if moved out of the city.

Anyway... we left Friday night and got up there about 8pm. Visited for a bit, but we were all exhausted. I didn't have time to get Braydens pack n play. So I made him a bed on the floor. I think he really liked it. He was able to just get up and start walking around in the morning instead of waiting for someone to come get him. Hmmm... is my little man ready for a toddler bed??? WAHHHH...

Saturday we drove down to the Silverthorne Outlets. It was such a nice day out! We all enjoyed being outside and did a little shopping. I let Brayden have a lollipop so of course I had to buy him another outfit while we were there! LOL Brayden loved the snow. He kept trying to eat it, like most kids. Oh who am I fooling, we all love to eat snow! Colin and Zach started a little snow ball fight with him. Brayden would just laugh and then he started putting snow in his own hair and would think it was so funny! That evening everyone went fishing except for me, Jacque and Brayden. So we stayed in and got dinner ready and just relaxed.

Sunday we woke up to snow on the ground and sometimes couldn't see 5 feet beyond the house, the wind was blowing so bad. I kept joking around how great it would be if we got snowed in. Some decided to still go fishing sunday morning, while me and some others stayed back in the cozy warm house! Crazy suckers! :)

We left by 2pm and snow was coming down pretty good. We got to Silverthorne and found that the highway home was closed due to weather. Now I would have been excited accept for the other highway back to the house had now been closed. We were stuck! We walked Target for a bit and then had some dinner. The highway finally opened and we made it home safe.

We all had a great time and I am looking forward to getting out of the city more as the summer is nearing. Bring on camping season!!!
