Brayden is 6 months already!!!

This year is flying!!! I can't believe my little man is growing up so fast this year! We had his 6 month check up yesterday. He is now 17 lbs and 28 inches long. He got 2 shots yesterday and screamed for 2 seconds, picked him up and instantly stopped. He always does so good at the doctor. Doc said he is healthy and well. He said we can start feeding him meat as well now. He is able to sit up on his own now for a bit then looses his balance. He scooches around and rolls around A LOT. He also is trying to crawl. Gets up on his hands and knee's and just rocks back and forth. Then gets mad because he isn't going anywhere. I'm sure it will be happening soon enough. I am so blessed to have Brayden. He is such a happy baby and I get lots of smiles and lots of giggles!

He gets to take his first plane ride on Thursday. We are going to Chicago to see my Dad and Lynn. I'm excited to see how he does on the plane. We are really looking forward to this trip. It will be a great 4th of July celebration! I am sure I will have lots of pictures to post when we get back. Until then here are some of his 6 month pics we had done.

Father's Day

Sometimes you just need a family day! I'm so glad we got to really spend our time celebrating Father's day today with Gary. (Yep... he ditched work today) We drove up to Georgetown so he could throw his poles in the water for a bit and brought a picnic. No luck on the catching fish... but still was a great day! We went to the park and walked the town and had ice cream. YUM.

It is so fun watching Gary be the dad that he is. He is so good with Brayden and they both just totally adore each other. They have a very strong bond already. I know it will only continue to grow. He is so good with our little man. The love that he has for him and how much he cares for him. And he is always so playful with him. He can really get him laughing. I love it. I can see them in the future just telling jokes back and forth while they are fishing or hunting. Great friends they will become. I love you baby and I am so glad you are my babies daddy... LOL!

I want to say thanks to my dad too and Happy Father's Day! Wish you were here to spend it with. I am truly grateful for you and all that you do for me. I feel like our relationship has grown so much and I love the friends we have become! Like you have said before, I too cherish every moment we get to spend together since we don't live near eachother. I love you so much!!! Brayden is lucky to have you for a Papa too!

Also to Jerry... thank you for being you! You are a great father! I am so glad we have you as a part of our family now. I couldn't have asked for a better husband for my mama! I love you!

Happy Father's day to all dad's out there!

Fun in the Sun

Yesterday Brayden and I went to Water World with my mom. We had so much fun! I was worried he wouldn't like it or the water would be to cold or there wouldn't be enough for him to enjoy, since obviously he is not big enough for rides yet. But Brayden just continues to amaze me how easy going he is when it comes to introducing him to new things. He loved splashing in the water yesterday! We played a lot in the baby pool area just splashing in all the fountains and playing with the air bubbles. My mom and I even ventured down to the lazy river with him and he had so much fun sitting on the tube with Grammy and just watching everyone. We also took him in the little wave pool. I don't normally like the little wave pool because it is so boring for me... but thought it would be relaxing for Brayden. Quite the contrary. My mom rented a tube for us. So she sat in the tube holding Brayden and I was outside of the tube just holding on. It was funny but a bit stressful. Before you never felt unsafe or like you would fall out... but then you are holding your baby and things have totally changed! You worry a whole lot more ... what if you did tip over or what if someone ran into your tube and tipped you over. So I decided we are going to wait till next summer to go back to the wave pool. LOL
Still though, we had so much fun and Brayden just loved it. I will definitely go back this summer! Besides he looks so cute in his swim gear! ha ha ha

Camping

We took our 2nd camping trip this last weekend. We had a ton of fun and Brayden did so good. He was so happy and so chill in the outdoors! The first night he only woke up one time and the next night he slept straight thru the night. We had a great time and were right next to south platte river. If I hadn't just had my surgery I would have been tubing with everyone. It was SUPER hot the whole time but very enjoyable since we didn't have to bundle up even in the evening after the sun went down. Loved it! Brayden even got to try out his new pool! Check out these cute pics!

Nani and Papa's visit

We had a great Memorial Day weekend! My dad and Lynn came into town to visit! They got lots of Brayden time in. It started and ended wonderfully but in the middle of it all I had to have my gallbladder out! YUCK! It wasn't to bad of a recovery and I'm so glad they were here to help! We had a great time besides the the day and a half I was in the hospital. But I'm sure they were lovin it being home with Brayden! They got here last wednesday and we all just kind of hung out! The very next day I started having some pain and went to the doctor... then ended up that night having my gallbladder out. Came home the next day. Lynn, Ang, and I all went and got pedicures and manicures. NO surgery was going to stop me from being pampered! LOL. On Saturday we went and had lunch and then spent the day at the park, and did some shopping afterwards and met up with Ang and Rick for dinner at Texas Roadhouse! YUM! Sunday we had our BBQ with some friends and family! It was beautiful out and a perfect day! Monday Dad, Lynn, Brayden, and I all went to the Cemetary and put flowers up by my grandparents and went to lunch at the Cherry Cricket. That evening we just relaxed at home! Today Nani and Papa had to go home. Brayden sure is going to miss them!
